The 2022 Global Korea Scholarship for Graduate Degrees

The Korean Education Center in Malaysia (The Embassy of the Republic of Korea) is pleased to announce that the 2022 Korean Government Scholarship Program for Graduate Degrees (GKS-G) is now open for application.

1. Selection schedule:

   □ Submission deadline: Tuesday 8th March 2022, by 17:00 to the KOREAN EDUCATION CENTER IN MALAYSIA(KECMy)* (by hand or post)

   * KECMy: 6th Floor, Menara Hap Seng, Letter Box 66, Jalan P. Ramlee, 50250 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

   * Outside office hours, please put the application documents on the box prepared beside the receptionist at the ground level, Menara Hap Seng.

※Any application that arrive after deadline will be rejected.

   □ Result of document screening: 16th March 2022

   □ Interview: 21st ~ 23rd March 2022 (TBC)

   □ Result of 1st round: 25th March 2022

   □ Selection of 2nd round (NIIED): Early May (TBC)

   □ Selection of 3rd round (Respective Universities): by Friday, 10th June 2022 (TBC)

3. Notes for Malaysian applicants:

   □ Please wrote as below on the Application Checklist: 

Name of institute receiving application (공관/대학명): Embassy of Republic of Korea in Malaysia (말레이시아 대사관)

   □ Please follow this to fill in your name:

Family name (성): Bin/Binti Your Father’s name(for Malay); A/L or A/P your father’s name(for Indian) and Family name for Chinese

Given name (이름): Your name(Applicable for all races)

※Others can follow as stated in the guideline.

   □ Please submit birth certificates for applicants. If applicant's birth certificates do not stated the nationality/proof of citizenship of parents, please submit parents birth certificates/passport. 

※Other related certificate are follow as stated in the guideline.

PLEASE READ THE 2022 GKS-G APPLICATION GUIDELINE AND GKS-G FAQ THOROUGHLY TO PREVENT YOUR APPLICATION TO BE REJECTED.

4. Important notes:

   □ Please send full scores/grades of your academia years accordingly.

※Application who fail to fill in Score percentile[FORM 1] will be rejected.

※Please submit supporting documents to explain your grade if the academic grading system is different or not applicable with the system stated in the guideline.

   □ Required document: One original document and 3 extra photocopies.

※Application documents must be submitted in the order of the “Application Checklist.” which itself should be the front cover of each set of application documents.

※Documents to complete [no.1~8] need to be completed according the guideline.

※Certificates [no.9~13/18] need to get consular-authenticated by Korean Embassy regulation. Please refer to the link regarding the consular service (Wisma Putra and Korean Embassy).

※Other documents [no.19~21] such as TOPIK, Passport and copy of awards etc. can be submit if necessary without the authentication process but need to be translated if it is not in English or Korean.

   □ The applicant must choose a university under Embassy track and must include at least one university from type B.

※Applicant who choose university which is not listed under the available universities under Embassy track will be rejected.

   □ The successful applicants who were expected to graduate at the time of application will be put under conditional successful candidates.

   □ The applicants who submit incomplete documents, unfollow submission requirements and late will be rejected.

※Final  Successful  Candidates  who  renounce  their  scholarship  cannot reapply for  the  GKS program in the future.

※If renunciation is repeated, the relevant countries will lose their GKS quota in the future
