Korean Education Center in Malaysia (The Embassy of the Republic of Korea)

is pleased to announce that 

The 2023 Global Korea Scholarship for Undergraduate Degrees (GKS-U)

is now open for application.

Please read this announcement to apply for the program via EMBASSY TRACK. You are also encouraged to apply via University track.

1. Selection schedule:

   □ Submission deadline: Wednesday 30th September 2022, by 17:00 to the KOREAN EDUCATION CENTER(KEC)* (by hand or post)

   * KEC: Suite 6.01, 6th Floor, Menara Hap Seng, Jalan P. Ramlee, 50250 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

   * Outside office hours, please put the application documents on the box prepared in front of the KEC door, Level 6, Menara Hap Seng.

※Any application that arrive after deadline will be rejected.

   □ Result of document screening: 14th October 2022

   □ Interview: 17th ~ 20th October 2022 (TBC)

   □ Result of 1st round: 21st October 2022

   □ Selection of 2nd round (NIIED): Late November (TBC)

   □ Selection of 3rd round (Respective Universities): by 16th December 2022 (TBC)

2. Quota for Malaysia under Embassy track: Bachelor degree program: 1

3. Notes for Malaysian applicants:

   Please wrote as below on the Application Checklist:  

Name of institute receiving application (공관/대학명): Embassy of Republic of Korea in Malaysia (말레이시아 대사관)

   □ Please follow this to fill in applicant's name in Form 1:

Family name (성): Bin/Binti Your Father’s name(for Malay); A/L or A/P your father’s name(for Indian) and Family name for Chinese

Given name (이름): Your name(Applicable for all races)

※Please make sure your name are the same as stated in the IC/passport.

PLEASE READ THE 2023 GKS-U APPLICATION GUIDELINE AND GKS-U FAQ THOROUGHLY TO PREVENT YOUR APPLICATION TO BE REJECTED.

4. Important notes:

   □ All the documents must be translated into English or Korean.

※Document which is not translated properly into English or Korean will be rejected.

   □ Required document: One original document.

• The applicant documents must be arranged in order of the “Application Checklist”. The “Application Checklist” will be the front cover of each set of applicant documents.

• Please number and label each document on the top right corner.

• All documents must not be separated by stapler or paper clip.

• Put the document in an envelope and label the envelope to:

Starting from 2022, all GKS applicants only need to get documents attested by MOFA Malaysia (Wisma Putra). Only those who passed the interview will need to get consular-confirmed by MOFA Korea (Korean Embassy).
