The 2023 Global Korea Scholarship for Graduate Degrees

Korean Education Center in Malaysia (The Embassy of the Republic of Korea) is pleased to announce that 

The 2023 Korean Government Scholarship Program for Graduate Degrees (GKS-G) is now open for application.

Please read this announcement to apply for the program via EMBASSY TRACK. You are also encouraged to apply via University track due to the quota available to Malaysians.

1. Selection schedule:

   □ Submission deadline: Tuesday, 28th February 2023, by 17:00 to the KOREAN EDUCATION CENTER IN MALAYSIA(KECMy)* (by hand or post)

   * KEC: Suite 6.08, 6th Floor, Menara Hap Seng, Jalan P. Ramlee, 50250 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

   * Outside office hours, please put the application documents on the box prepared in front of the KEC door, Level 6, Menara Hap Seng.

※Any application that arrive after deadline will be rejected.

   □ Result of document screening: 10th March 2023

   □ Interview: 13th ~ 17th March 2023 (TBC)

   □ Result of 1st round: 20th ~ 24th March 2023 (TBC)

   □ Selection of 2nd round (NIIED): Early May (TBC)

   □ Selection of 3rd round (Respective Universities): by Friday, 9th June 2023 (TBC)

※It is each applicant’s responsibility to check important notices posted on “Study in Korea” website.

2. Quota for Malaysia under Embassy track: General programs: 18

3. Notes for Malaysian applicants:

   □ Please wrote as below on the Application Checklist:  

Name of institute receiving application (공관/대학명): Embassy of Republic of Korea in Malaysia (말레이시아 대사관)

Name of Applicant (성명): Your full name as stated in Passport

Family (성): Bin/Binti Your Father’s name(for Malay); 

                     A/L or A/P your father’s name(for Indian and Bumiputera); and 

                     Family name for Chinese

Given (이름): Your name(Applicable for all races)

※Please make sure your name are the same as stated in the passport.

PLEASE READ THE 2023 GKS-G APPLICATION GUIDELINE AND GKS-G FAQ THOROUGHLY TO PREVENT YOUR APPLICATION TO BE REJECTED.

4. Documentation requirements:

   □ Number of documents to be submit: One original document.

• Document screening: The documents must include with attestation by MOFA Malaysia              (Wisma Putra) for ‘required certificates’.

• Applicant passed the 1st round of selection: Only those who passed the interview will need to get consular-confirmed/notarized by MOFA Korea (Korean Embassy).

   □ Things to note during submission:

• All documents must be submitted in English or Korean. Translated document should be accompanied by its original.

• Application documents must be submitted in the order of the “Application Checklist.” which itself should be the front cover of each set of application documents.

• All documents must be labelled and not be separated by stapler or paper clip.
