The 2025 Global Korea Scholarship for Graduate Degrees

The 2025 Korean Government Scholarship Program for Graduate Degrees (GKS-G)

will be EXTENDED for application.

1. Selection schedule:

□ NEW Submission deadline: Friday, 28th February 2025, by 17:00 to the KOREAN EDUCATION CENTER IN MALAYSIA(KECMy)* (by hand or post)

* KEC: Suite 6.08, 6th Floor, Menara Hap Seng, Jalan P. Ramlee, 50250 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

* Outside office hours, please put the application documents on the box prepared in front of the KEC door, Level 6, Menara Hap Seng.

※Any application that arrives after the deadline will be rejected.

□ Result of document screening: 12th March 2025

※Result will be announced to all passed and failed applicants via email.

□ Interview: 14th ~ 19th March 2025 (TBC)

□ Result of 1st round: 21st March 2025 (TBC)

※Result will be announced to all successful and unsuccessful candidates of 1st round of selection.

□ Selection of 2nd round (NIIED): Early May (TBC)

□ Selection of 3rd round (Respective Universities): by Thursday, 5th June 2025 (TBC)

□ Announcement of 2024 GKS-G Scholar (NIIED): Late June 2025 (TBC)

※Please refer to the 2024 GKS-U application guidelines on pages 21 and 22 for the selection of important dates.

※It is each applicant’s responsibility to check important notices posted on the “Study in Korea” website.

Important notes:

- Embassy track candidates (including reserve candidates) who passed the first round of selection cannot apply again through a university track.

- Embassy track applicants from Malaysia must apply to the General program.

※Duplicate submissions will be disregarded in the evaluation. If found afterward, the scholarship will be canceled even after the evaluation is completed.

3. Notes for Malaysian applicants:

□ Please write as below on the Application Checklist:

- Name of institute receiving application (공관/대학명): Embassy of Republic of Korea in Malaysia (말레이시아 대사관)

- Name of Applicant (성명): As stated in the Passport

PLEASE READ THE 2025 GKS-G APPLICATION GUIDELINE AND GKS-G FAQ THOROUGHLY TO PREVENT YOUR APPLICATION TO BE REJECTED.

The applicants who are expected to graduate by July 31st, 2025 can also apply for the program with a certificate of expected graduation. Such applicants must submit their official graduation certificate (or diploma) and final academic transcript to GKS Center, NIIED by July 31st, 2025. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of your acceptance

4. Documentation requirements:

□ Refer to The GKS-G Documentation Requirement Guideline for the 1st round of selection - Embassy track-MY

□ Number of documents to be submitted: One(1) set of notarized/consular-confirmed + three(3) sets of photocopies.

□ Put the document in an envelope and label the envelope to:

□ Things to note during submission:

- All documents must be submitted in English or Korean. The translated document should be accompanied by its original.

- Application documents must be submitted in the order of the “Application Checklist” which itself should be the front cover of each set of application documents.

- Please number and label each document. Do not use sticky notes!

※Number and label each document can be done by handwriting, typing, gluing, or labeling stickers.

- The documents MUST not be separated by a stapler or paper clip. Binder clips are allowed.
