The 2026 Global Korea Scholarship for Graduate Degrees

The 2026 Korean Government Scholarship Program for Graduate Degrees (GKS-G)

will be open for application.

1. Selection schedule:

   □ Application Period: Thursday, 12 February 10:00 ~ Wednesday, 25 February 2026  17:00 [MYT] apply
        through the ‘Study in Korea’ website (www.studyinkorea.go.kr)

   * Starting from February 2026, the GKS application for the Embassy track will only be accepted 
      via online application.  

   * Please follow the instructions given in the application guidelines and website.

   ※Any application that arrives after the deadline will be rejected.

□ Result of document screening: 5th March 2026 (TBC)

※Result will be announced to all passed and failed applicants via email.

□ Submission Deadline for documents: 13th March 2026 (Friday)

※Selected interview session candidates only

□ Interview: 9th ~ 12th March 2026 (TBC)

□ Result of 1st round: 16th March 2026 (Monday)

※Check your results via “My Page” on the Study in Korea website

□ Selection of 2nd round (NIIED): Early May (TBC)

□ Selection of 3rd round (Respective Universities): by Friday, 12th June 2026 (TBC)

□ Announcement of 2026 GKS-G Scholar (NIIED): Late June 2026 (TBC)

※Please refer to the 2026 GKS-G application guidelines on pages 24 and 25 for the selection of important dates.

※It is each applicant’s responsibility to check important notices posted on the “Study in Korea” website.

Important notes:

- Embassy track candidates (including reserve candidates) who passed the first round of selection cannot apply again through a university track.

- Embassy track applicants from Malaysia must apply to the General program.

※ Duplicate submissions will be disregarded in the evaluation. If found afterward, the scholarship will be canceled even after the evaluation is completed.

3. Notes for applicants:

   □ Please select as below during the application through the website:  

- Application Track: Embassy track

- Application Program: General 

- Degree Program to Apply: Master's Degree OR Doctoral Degree

PLEASE READ THE 2026 GKS-G APPLICATION GUIDELINE AND GKS-G FAQ THOROUGHLY TO PREVENT YOUR APPLICATION FROM BEING REJECTED.

The applicants who are expected to graduate by July 31st, 2026, can also apply for the program with a certificate of expected graduation. Such applicants must submit their official graduation certificate and final academic transcript to the GKS Center, NIIED by July 31st, 2026. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of your acceptance

4. Documentation requirements:

   □ Refer to the 2026 GKS-G Documentation Requirement Guideline for the 1st round of selection - Embassy track-MY

   □ Number of documents to be submitted: One(1) set of notarized/consular-confirmed and one(1) set of photocopy documents

Applicants have to submit their application documents to the Korean Education Center in Malaysia within the deadline

   □ Put the document in an envelope and label the envelope to:

   □ Things to note during submission:

- All documents must be submitted in English or Korean. The translated document should be accompanied by its original.

※ The certificate should be translated even if the documents are bilingual (Malay and English) 

- Application documents must be submitted in the order of the “Application Checklist,” which itself should be the front cover of each set of application documents.

- Please number and label each document as shown below. Do not use sticky notes!

-  The documents MUST not be separated by a stapler or paper clip. Binder clips are allowed.

※ Number and label each document can be done by handwriting, typing, gluing, or labeling stickers.
