The 2027 Global Korea Scholarship for Undergraduate Degrees (GKS-U)

will soon be open for application.

1. Selection schedule:

□ Application Period: Tuesday, 15th September 11:00 ~ Wednesday, 30th September 2026 18:00; apply through the ‘Study in Korea’ website (www.studyinkorea.go.kr)

* The GKS application will only be accepted via online application.

* Please follow the instructions given in the application guidelines and on the website.

* All dates and times are based on Korea Standard Time.

□ Result of document screening: 8th October 2026(TBC)

□ Interview:12th ~ 14th October 2026(TBC)

□ Result of 1st round:16th October 2026

□ Selection of 2nd round (NIIED):Within November(TBC)

□ Selection of 3rd round (Respective Universities): By December 23(TBC)

※Please refer to the 2027 GKS-U application guidelines on pages 9 to 11 for the selection of important dates.

※It is each applicant’s responsibility to check important notices posted on the “Study in Korea” website.

4. Documentation requirements:

□ Refer to The GKS-U Documentation Requirement Guideline for the 1st round of selection - Embassy track-MY

□ Number of documents to be submitted: One(1) set of notarized/consular-confirmed and one(1) set of photocopy documents

□ For Embassy track, put the document in an envelope and label the envelope to:

□ Things to note during submission:

-All documents must be submitted in English or Korean. The translated document should be accompanied by its original.

※ The certificate should be translated if it is bilingual (Malay and English) - even a single word of Malay in the document will require translation. 

-Application documents must be submitted in the order of the “Application Checklist,” which itself should be the front cover of each set of application documents.

-Please number and label each document as shown below. Do not use sticky notes!

-The documents MUST not be separated by a stapler or paper clip. Binder clips are allowed.

※ Number and label each document can be done by handwriting, typing, gluing, or labeling stickers.
