<The 21st Korean Speech Contest>

<제21회 말레이시아 한국어 말하기대회>

The Korean Education Center in Malaysia would like to invite all Malaysians who are eligible to join the 21st Korean Speech Contest. Please look at the details below for more~

□ Venue: Auditorium, Tun Mohamed Suffian, Faculty of Law, Universiti Malaya

□ Date:

★ Final Round: 18 July 2026 (Saturday, 12:00 - 16:00)

★ Submission deadline:3 June 2026 (Wednesday)

★ Interview: 22 June (Mon) ~ 26 June 2026 (Fri)

□ Eligibility(지원자격):

1. The contest is open to Malaysians whose mother tongue (or first language) is not Korean.

※Malaysians who are working or living outside Malaysia are not eligible to apply for the contest.

2. The following persons are not eligible to participate in the contest:

a. Have lived or studied in Korea for more than six (6) months; and/or

b. Grand or First Prize winners of any Korean speech contests held in 2024 or 2025; and/or

c. Winner, 2nd or 3rd place in the Korean speech Contest in Malaysia held in the previous year; and/or

d. Have participated in any similar Korean speech contest held in Malaysia in 2026.

□ Topics(주제): ※Please choose one topic to be submitted during the application.

1. 소개하고 싶은 말레이시아 문화축제 [A Malaysian Cultural Festival I want to introduce]

2. 초능력이 생긴다면 [If I could have a Superpower]

3. 한달살기하는 한국인에게 꼭 알려주고 싶은 거 [Essential guidance or advice for Koreans planning a One-Month stay in Malaysia] 

□ How to apply(지원방법):

1. Submit your application form by Google form [https://forms.gle/jnVXqdZzjEVLF6Kr7] or scan the QR code in the poster

2. The application form can be downloaded from the attachment or from Google Form.

※Please refer to the instructions in the Google Form carefully.

□ Script Screening:

1. The script screening process will take around 2 weeks after the application period.

2. The result of the script screening will be out via email from KEC.

3. If you pass the script screening, you will be invited to the interview session.

4. The interview session will be conducted through Zoom.

5. The result of the finalist's selection will be announced by email within 2 weeks after the interview session.

 □ Evaluation(평가):

a) Speeches shall not exceed five (5) minutes and shall be made extemporaneously.

b) Evaluation Criteria:

(i) Content and organization 

(ii) Pronunciation and fluency

(iii) Grammar and vocabulary   

(iv) Stage presentation
