The Graduate School of Korean Studies is an affiliated institution of the Academy of Korean Studies (AKS), which is funded and administered by the Korean government. It was established in 1980 to nurture scholars contributing to the development and globalization of Korean studies, through a liaison between the AKS’ research capacity and graduate education.

Scholarship:

• All international students are granted a full tuition waiver.
• POSCO Global Scholarships (3 recipients) and Government Grant (15 recipients) are available.
• Additional financial support includes research assistant stipends and various work-study opportunities.

Application timeline:

• 2027 Spring Semester [August 31 ~ September 18, 2026]
• 2027 Fall Semester [March 8 ~ March 19, 2027]
