The 2024 Global Korea Scholarship for Graduate Degrees

Korean Education Center in Malaysia (The Embassy of the Republic of Korea) 

is pleased to announce that 

The 2024 Korean Government Scholarship Program for Graduate Degrees (GKS-G) 

is now open for application.

1. Selection schedule:

   □ Submission deadline: Wednesday, 28th February 2024, by 17:00 to the KOREAN EDUCATION CENTER IN MALAYSIA(KECMy)* (by hand or post)

   * KEC: Suite 6.08, 6th Floor, Menara Hap Seng, Jalan P. Ramlee, 50250 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 

   * Outside office hours, please put the application documents on the box prepared in front of the KEC door, Level 6, Menara Hap Seng.

※Any application that arrives after the deadline will be rejected.

   □ Result of document screening: 11th March 2024

        ※Result will be announced to all passed and failed applicants via email.

   □ Interview: 13th ~ 15th March 2024 (TBC)

   □ Result of 1st round: 18th ~ 19th March 2024 (TBC)

       ※Result will be announced to all successful and unsuccessful candidates of 1st round of selection. 

   □ Selection of 2nd round (NIIED): Early May (TBC)

   □ Selection of 3rd round (Respective Universities): by Friday, 7th June 2024 (TBC)

   □ Announcement of 2024 GKS-G Scholar (NIIED): Late June 2024 (TBC)

※ It is each applicant’s responsibility to check important notices posted on “Study in Korea” website. The NIIED does not inform applicants individually of the results of each round of selection. (Page 24)

Important notes:

 - Embassy track candidates (including reserve candidates) who passed the first round of selection cannot apply again through a university track.

- Embassy track applicants from Malaysia must apply to the General program.

※ Duplicate submissions will be disregarded in the evaluation. If found afterwards, scholarship will be cancelled even after the evaluation is completed.

3. Notes for Malaysian applicants:

PLEASE READ THE 2024 GKS-G APPLICATION GUIDELINE AND GKS-G FAQ THOROUGHLY TO PREVENT YOUR APPLICATION TO BE REJECTED.

<Significant Change in the 2024 GKS-G>

Starting from 2024 GKS-G, applicants who are expected to graduate by July 31st, 2024 can also apply for the program with a certificate of expected graduation. Such applicants must submit their official graduation certificate (or diploma) and final academic transcript to GKS Center, NIIED by July 31st, 2024. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of your acceptance

4. Number of documents to be submitted:

1. One(1) set of Documents to be completed.

2. One(1) set of Certificates attested by the Consular, Wisma Putra. 

3. One(1) set of Other documents (Optional).

4. Four(4) sets of Recommendation Letters.

※ONLY the applicant who successfully passed the interview as EMBASSY TRACK CANDIDATES will be informed to submit one(1) set of notarized/consular-confirmed + three(3) sets of photocopies.

   □ Things to note during submission:

• All documents must be submitted in English or Korean. The translated document should be accompanied by its original.

• Application documents must be submitted in the order of the “Application Checklist” which should be the front cover of each set of application documents.

• Please number and label each document as shown below. Do not use sticky notes!

•  A stapler or paper clip MUST not separate the documents. Binder clips are allowed.
